The Rawlinson Run

A super result from Smarden’s Cross Country Running Squad. A sunny afternoon at Dulwich, with the Smarden children at their best.

First to run was the Year 2 girls, a heroic performance. Madison, Elsa and Belle nervously took to the starting line. All three 3 girls ran hard and finished with a smile.

Next up, the Year 2 boys (our biggest year group) but still out numbered by all the other school teams! The boys ran with passion and dertermination. Freddie finished in an awesome 3rd place with William, Cameron and Charlie finishing in the first half of the field!

The Year 3 girls went next, Amelie, Amelia and Kayleigh ran strong and finished well.

Year 3 boy Leon, bravely went solo to the starting line. This did not intimidate him and he ran a courageous race.

The penultimate race was the Year 4 girls, Annabel had a great start and finished looking strong and jubilant. Not easy running as the only representative of your year.

The final race was all eyes on Charlie and George! Both boys had a great start and worked their way through the field. A strong finish by both boys.

All of the children did Smarden proud! Not only did they run to the best of their ability but they displayed impeccible behaviour.

At the presentation we proudly cheered Freddie, as he received his medal for third place. And we cheered even louder to hear that Smarden Primary was awarded the shield for ‘Sportmanship’ . A total surprise but truly deserving.

Well done team! Super proud!
