Mr Bedford-Cooper and Mrs Sorrell welcome you to Sassoon Class!
We begin the term looking at a new topic ‘Mysterious Mesopotamia!’ A topic full of intrigue, mystery and innovation it promises to be a fascinating topic! Our key question for the term is, “Is there any need for secrets?”
We shall explore S.F Said’s Varjak Paw in literacy, using it to analyse and explore our topic. To go alongside this we shall explore rocks and fossils in science to examine how rocks are different, comparing and exploring the creation of fossils. History this term shall look at the Ancient Sumer, their culture and impact on the entire world. Maths shall look at fractions for the majority of the term before moving on to some decimal links later on.
Spanish shall by our language to study and Art & DT shall be looking at creating Mesopotamian statues. Furthermore violin lessons continue this term with weekly sessions as we develop our finger positioning and further bow control.
In Sassoon Class we always endeavour to make learning as interactive and dynamic as possible as I firmly believe that enjoyable learning is good learning. Furthermore, we shall always aim to challenge ourselves, as part of our growth mindset, in order to fully stretch our brains and grow our own learning power in order to become ‘the best me that I can be’. We pride ourselves on our inclusiveness, attitude to learning and our friendly classroom atmosphere.
Furthermore, we aim to open and transparent both with our learning and teaching so if there are any further questions, please feel free to contact myself or Mrs Sorrell either in person, through the school or, if a parent, through classdojo.
