Yr 3/4 - Sassoon

Mr Bedford-Cooper and Mrs Sorrell welcome you to Sassoon Class

Already into the second term, where does the time go…?

We begin the term looking at a new topic ‘The Circus!’ A topic full of magic, mystery and wonder it promises to be an intriguing topic!

Our key question for the term is, “Should animals be made to perform?”

In Literacy we shall explore Angela McAllister’s book "Leon and the Place Between",  using it to analyse and explore our topic. To go alongside this we shall explore light in Science to examine how light works, its use and how we could apply this to the circus.

History this term shall look at the vicious Vikings, their culture and impact on Britain. Maths shall look at addition & subtraction predominantly this term before moving on to some multiplication and division later on.

Spanish shall by our language to study and Art & DT shall be looking at the work of the circus. Furthermore we are lucky enough for our violin lessons to start in earnest this term with weekly sessions.

In Sassoon Class we always endeavour to make learning as interactive and dynamic as possible as I firmly believe that enjoyable learning is good learning. Furthermore, we shall always aim to challenge ourselves, as part of our growth mindset, in order to fully stretch our brains and grow our own learning power in order to become ‘the best me that I can be’. We pride ourselves on our inclusiveness, attitude to learning and our friendly classroom atmosphere.

Furthermore, we aim to open and transparent both with our learning and teaching so if there are any further questions, please feel free to contact myself or Mrs Sorrell either in person, through the school or, if a parent, through classdojo.
