Mr Bedford-Cooper and Mrs Sorrell welcome you to Sassoon Class
We begin the term looking at a new topic ‘States of Matter.’ A scientific subject that promises to unlock the secrets of matter, energy and our own existence, it promises to be a highly challenging topic. Our key question for the term is, “Can life exist without water?”
We shall explore Robert Swindells’ book Ice Palace in literacy, using it to analyse and explore a frozen world. To go alongside this we shall explore states of matter in science. Geography this term shall look at weather & climate throughout the UK and the world, using this to investigate how it can impact culture and lifestyle. Maths shall continue to look at multiplication and division before moving onto fractions later on.
Spanish shall by our language to study and Art & DT shall be looking at our drawing skills. Furthermore we are lucky enough for our violin lessons to start in earnest this term with weekly sessions.
In Sassoon Class we always endeavour to make learning as interactive and dynamic as possible as I firmly believe that enjoyable learning is good learning. Furthermore, we shall always aim to challenge ourselves, as part of our growth mindset, in order to fully stretch our brains and grow our own learning power in order to become ‘the best me that I can be’. We pride ourselves on our inclusiveness, attitude to learning and our friendly classroom atmosphere.
Furthermore, we aim to open and transparent both with our learning and teaching so if there are any further questions, please feel free to contact myself or Mrs Sorrell either in person, through the school or, if a parent, through Class Dojo.
