Mr Bedford-Cooper and Mrs Sorrell welcome you to Sassoon Class!
We begin the term looking at a new topic ‘20th Century Changes.’ A discovery based topic that shall explore how life has changed, how invention and technology has changed our world and how culture has evolved. Our key question for the term is, “Is change always good?”
We shall explore John Marsden and Shaun Tan’s book The Rabbits in literacy, using it to analyse and explore Australia during colonisation, and the impact it had on the country, its culture and its native aboriginal population. To go alongside this we shall explore sound in science. History this term shall look at the 20th Century Britain and its changes. Maths shall at money, measurement and statistics.
Spanish shall by our language to study and Art & DT shall be looking at Aboriginal artwork. Furthermore we are lucky enough for our violin lessons to continue this term with weekly sessions building towards our concert!
In Sassoon Class we always endeavour to make learning as interactive and dynamic as possible as I firmly believe that enjoyable learning is good learning. Furthermore, we shall always aim to challenge ourselves, as part of our growth mindset, in order to fully stretch our brains and grow our own learning power in order to become ‘the best me that I can be’. We pride ourselves on our inclusiveness, attitude to learning and our friendly classroom atmosphere.
Furthermore, we aim to open and transparent both with our learning and teaching so if there are any further questions, please feel free to contact myself or Mrs Sorrell either in person, through the school or, if a parent, through classdojo.
