Year 3/4 - Kestrels

Mr Bedford-Cooper and Mrs Smith welcome you to Kestrels Class!

As we start the summer term we begin our new topic – Let’s Explore Growing. An area that lends itself to scientific growth and exploration – we shall examine all different types of animals and plants, including ourselves!

In literacy we shall be looking at elements of instructional texts and have the opportunity to perform with poetry. Maths shall continue to look at addition & subtraction, multiplication & division before moving onto money, geometry & measurement. We shall looking at vegetation and our environments in our topic work and science shall be looking at Animals including Humans, including experimentation; RE shall examine the Kingdom of God and answering the question, ‘When Jesus left, what was the impact of Pentecost?’

Spanish & Ukulele shall continue this term and Art & DT shall be continuing to look at clothing and stitching linked to assist with our recycled materials subject.

In Kestrels Class we always endeavour to make learning as interactive and dynamic as possible as I firmly believe that enjoyable learning is good learning. Furthermore, we shall always aim to challenge ourselves, as part of our growth mindset, in order to fully stretch our brains and grow our own learning power in order to become ‘the best me that I can be’. We pride ourselves on our inclusiveness, attitude to learning and our friendly classroom atmosphere.

Furthermore, we aim to open and transparent both with our learning and teaching so if there are any further questions, please feel free to contact myself or Mrs Smith either in person, through the school or, if a parent, through classdojo.
